This week I’ve had the terribly tough (ha ha) job of testing out a Ginger Lover’s Taste Box that I’d been sent from Keelham Farm Shop. It’s a hamper of ginger goodies featuring some really fantastic brands, some I already knew and loved (like Fentiman’s) and some that were completely new to me.
What was in the box?
My Ginger Lover’s Taste Box featured…
- Fentimen’s Ginger Beer
- Lottie Shaw’s Yorkshire Parkin
- Wright & Co’s Brandy Snaps
- Keelham Ginger Curd
- Lottie Shaw’s Parkin Biscuits
- Simpkins Ginger Drops
- Simply Cocoa Ginger Bar
I was extremely impressed with how well packaged it was. Despite some of the items being very fragile (can you imagine posting brandy snaps?) everything arrived in excellent condition. The box is very smart and included a little hand written note card (which you can select too if you’d like to buy one as a gift).
Another thing I love about the packaging was that it’s all made from card so can be easily recycled. I get frustrated at the amount of plastic packaging many of my parcels come with (especially at Christmas when bin space is at a bit of a premium), so the fact I can pop it all into the recycling is a little added bonus.
I haven’t finished everything from the box yet, but I’ve had a little sneaky taste of everything and I was so impressed with it all. The quality is excellent and everything fits perfectly with the ginger theme. I also love the fact that some of the things in the box are a little bit unusual. It would never have occurred to me to try ginger curd before but I’m now busy dreaming up what recipes I can create with it because it simply deserves to be made into something amazing. I’m also struggling to resist polishing off the whole tin of ginger drops while I type this!
Not a ginger lover?
Then that’s not a problem as Keelham have a wide selection of different boxes to try, ranging from £15-£145. They’re all foodie focussed, but some include little extra non-food treats such as the ‘Cosy Night In’ which includes a ceramic mug to enjoy your hot chocolate and slipper socks to get really cosy, alongside foodie treats such as chocolates and marshmallows. Looking at the list I suspect you’d find it tricky not to find a box to suit the person you love as there’s a really wide range from Beer & Curry, to Wine & Chocolates, to Yorkshire Favourites.
Sadly I’ve not been able to taste them all, but if they’re anywhere near as good as the ginger box then you’re in for a treat.
Win a Ginger Lover’s Taste Box
The exciting news is that I’m not the only one that gets to give these goodies a try as I’ve got a box to giveaway to one of you too.
