#FoodYearLinkup and Food Blogger’s Calendar – What’s on in December 2014

It’s that time of the month again when I send a reminder of what’s coming up in the Food Blogger’s Calendar this December.

However, before I do that I’ve got some exciting news…

#FoodYearLinkup launch

Foodyearlinkup-badgeYes, that’s right, I’m launching my own blogger linkup.

When I launched the Food Blogger’s Calendar, I told you how much I love the idea of linking my posts to foodie events through out the year. This month, I’ve been on the lookout for others joining in too and I’ve really enjoyed reading all of your posts and seeing your take on each of the events.

Another thing I’m loving at the moment is joining in with other linkups, it’s a fantastic way of “meeting” other bloggers and finding new blogs to follow and new recipes to try.

So I thought, why not combine the two? A monthly Food Blogger’s Calendar linkup #FoodYearLinkup. An opportunity to share any posts you have (old or new) related to any of the foodie events in the coming month. It doesn’t have to be a recipe, anything food related is very welcome.

You’ll find guidelines on how to link up at the bottom of this post (it’s really easy) and if you don’t feel like linking up then just pop down to the bottom to have a look at all of the other great posts linked up this month.

As this is my first month I’d really really appreciate it if you could help spread the word…

So what’s coming up in December 2014

Before you can link up, you need to know what’s on this month.

I warned you last month that December would be quiet for foodie days and, despite looking, I haven’t found any more. Fortunately Christmas and New Year present plenty of opportunities to write about food (and I know a lot of you have started already, as have I) so I’m sure you have plenty to share.

25 December – Christmas

31 December – New Year’s Eve

New events added to the Food Bloggers’ Calendar

I’m always on the look out for new events to add to the calendar for the coming year. This month I’ve added the following…

1-8 March 2015 – Dementia UK’s Time for a Cuppa

16-22 March 2015 – National Salt Awareness Week

16 July 2015 – National Cherry Day

5-11 October 2015 – British Egg Week

16 October 2015  – World Food Day

1-30 November 2015 – World Vegan Month

2-8 November 2015 – British Sausage Week

5 November 2015 – Guy Fawkes Night

30 November 2015 – St Andrew’s Day

If you know of any that I’ve missed, let me know and I’ll add them in.

So now it’s time to link up

To link up to the #FoodYearLinkup…

  1. Click the “add your link” button and add your link with a photo.
  2. Add the #FoodYearLinkup badge to your post so your readers know where to come to find lots of other fun foodies posts (you’ll find the code at the the bottom of this post).
  3. Join me in visiting the other linkers and comment, tweet, pin, stumble, etc. (whatever you like best) as many as you can.
  4. Come back again next month and do it all again.

Throughout the month I’ll be tweeting every entry and if you tweet me (@Charlotte’s Lively KitchenUK) to let me know you’ve linked up I’ll make sure I include you in the tweet. I’ll also be pinning every entry and will include my favourites in round up posts for a selection of events throughout the year.

  1. Hi my lovely,

#FoodYearLinkup is a great idea! You can definitely count me in. I have just linked my mince pie recipe, but couldn’t add the badge (can’t copy the whole link…). I have pinned your Reindeer Pancakes on my Advent Calendar board and commented on the post I hadn’t read before. xxx

    • Thanks so much for linking up. Thanks for letting me know about the code, I’ve been having trouble with it but I thought I’d fixed it this evening. I’ll have to take another look in the morning. I may well have to admit defeat and ask Vicki or Lucy how they do theirs.

  2. Charlotte,
Many thanks for the invitation. I’ve just linked my Xmas cake recipe as also one for Mulled Apple Juice. This is such a great idea.
Look forward to staying in touch.
    Cheers!

    • Thanks for linking up. Loving your blog, I’m just about to go and have a look through your latest Christmas recipes.

  3. I’d love to link up sometime in january! What’s the theme for that?

    • Thanks Linda, it would be lovely to see you there. The theme each month relates to events in my foodie calendar http://charlotteslivelykitchen.com/calendar/ so for January I’ll be asking people to linkup foodie posts related to Burn’s night, breakfast posts for breakfast week, and as it’s January I also thought it would be fun to include healthy food to help people loose any extra Christmas weight.

I hope you like the sound of one of those.

      See you in January 🙂
