#FoodYearLinkup – April 2016

Hello everyone, I hope you had a lovely Easter x

It’s that time of of the month again for April’s #FoodYearLinkup the place to share and discover lots of foodie inspiration for events in April.

Food Year Linkup April 2016

We had another record month in March with 25 of you coming to share over 50 recipes 🙂 . I loved so many of them but my absolute favourite was this Seafood and Kale Pie with Parmesan Puff Pastry from Claire at Foodie Quine. Look how pretty it is with the little pastry fish…

So what’s the theme this month?

As always, I’d love you to come and link up any foodie posts relating to the events in the Food Blogger’s Calendar for April. It’s a slightly quieter month this month, but I’m sure there’s still plenty to inspire you. I’ve linked up my cappuccino truffles for UK coffee week just to get us all started.

1 April – April Fools Day

4 April – International Carrot Day

7 April – World Health Day

11-18 April UK Coffee Week

18-24 April – International Dining Week

19 April – National Garlic Day

23 April – St George’s Day

If there’s an event missing from the calendar that you’d like to link up a post for, that’s absolutely fine, just make sure you let me know what the event is in the comments so I don’t get confused 🙂 .

To join in with the #FoodYearLinkup…

  1. Click the “add your link” button and add your link with a picture to entice everyone to come and have a look.
  2. To make my life easier I’d appreciate it if you could leave me a quick comment letting me know which event you’re linking up for (it helps me to tweet them at the right time).
  3. Join me in visiting the other linkers making sure you comment on at least one (I’m more than happy for you to link up several posts, but if you do you should go and comment on at least one other post for each one you link).

I’d also love it if you’d add the #FoodYearLinkup badge to your post so your readers know where to come to find lots of other fun foodie posts (you’ll find the code towards the bottom of this post).

Throughout the month I’ll be tweeting every entry and if you tweet me (@CharlottesLK) using the #FoodYearLinkup hashtag to let me know you’ve linked up I’ll make sure I include you in the tweet. I’ll also be pinning every entry on my dedicated #FoodYearLinkup board and may include my favourites in round up posts for a selection of events throughout the year. The tweets and round up posts may also include images from your post. If you’d rather they didn’t then just let me know in the comments.

So what are you waiting for? Link up up right here…

  1. Can’t believe I’ve missed International Carrot Day today! At least we had carrots with dinner. April 21st is also National Tea Day.

    • Charlotte Oates

I had no carrots at all, the closest I managed was sweet potato (well at least it’s an orange vegetable!). Thanks for letting me know about tea day x

  2. My recipe has one carrot in it, that counts right? xx

  3. Hi Charlotte, I found your blog a few weeks ago and decided to link my post (it’s the first time I’ve linked anything, so hopefully I’ve done it right). It’s carrot and orange – just right for International Carrot Day – even though it’s a bit on the late side.

Hi Hannah. Thanks so much for joining 🙂 I’ll be over for a proper look later. If you’d like me to recommend some more linkys to join then let me know.

  4. Hi – I didn’t do anything carroty either but have added a coffee link and a garlic one. xx

  5. Hi Charlotte,
I’ve added a coffee recipe for UK coffee week. This time I have put a link to your site up in the copy rather than the badge is that OK? Happy to change if not.

Also I would love have some recommendations of other good links.
looking forward to seeing what other coffee recipes are linked.

A link is fine (it’s not compulsory anyway I just appreciate it if people do). I do that sometimes if I’m linking up to quite a few as otherwise I find my posts looks really messy in the mobile view (and I don’t think it actually benefits me or the host to have lots of messy badges).

There’s a linky calendar here which has lots of good ones in (I’ve joined in most of them at one time or another) for weekly ones I also love TastyTuesdays on Honest Mum, RecipeOfTheWeek on A Mummy Too and CookBlogShare on Hijacked by Twins (and various others). CookBlogShare also has a lovely friendly Facebook group where you can share your posts and chat to people too.

  6. Hi Charlotte, I’ve just linked up two recipes for international dining week: a Mediterranean chicken traybake and a Thai chicken traybake 🙂 Eb x

  7. I have linked up a cake with coffee for coffee week. I did not know you did this linky until just now- Great idea x

  8. i have also linked up a recipe for carrot week
    thank you x

  9. Does Katsu Empanadas fly for international week?? I looked over their site and it didn’t seem too specific!

  10. Hi Charlotte, I’m linking up a recipe for UK Coffee week 🙂 x

  11. Hi Charlotte, I’ve linked in a side-by-side (by side) comparison post for National Tea day ( I think you have it listed on your ‘Food Year link up’ Page).
    Angela x

    • Charlotte Oates

Thanks Angela, I actually only found out about it after the start of the month so added it to the calendar but not the linky (because I was too lazy to change the badge in the post 🙂 ). I’m intrigued to see what you’re comparing side-by-side that’s got something to do with tea. I’ll be over to have a proper look in a bit x

  12. Linking up my Hungarian Beef Goulash today – another one for #InternationalDiningWeek AND with its 3 cloves of garlic could also be for #NationalGarlicDay. And notice – it’s not a traybake – shock horror! Though it does feature my cast iron casserole dish 😉 Eb x

  13. Hi Charlotte, I’m linking up for International Dining Week with a Spaghetti Milanese recipe x

  14. Healthier Homity Pie in honour of old St George 😉
